Dear Friends,

I can still picture myself standing in the hallway at church, reading the homeschool bulletin board. The routine of glancing at the homeschool board after the church service was ordinary, but what I read that day introduced our family to an extraordinary way of educating, one that challenges young people to read, think, and apply the truths they learn.

What I read was a note, posted by Bruce Kirby, announcing the start of interdisciplinary worldview classes for high school students. My daughter became one of Bruce's students. She has continued those classes for almost three years, and is receiving what I believe to be the finest high school education available in Polk County. She continues to take his classes, as well as studying with Dustin Kirby, as part of her education at the Cambridge Study Center. In addition to her Cambridge classes, she also is attending classes, at 16 years of age, at Polk Community College maintaining a grade point average of 4.0.

Young people in our society are not being taught to think critically. Nor are they encouraged to think of education as a life-long endeavor that continues after high school and college. The curriculum and style of teaching offered by Cambridge Study Center is a refreshing and much needed change. As a Cambridge student, my daughter has learned to analyze the books she reads and, consequently, has become interested in educating herself. I enjoy hearing her and her friends discussing various philosophers, and it is fun listening to them comparing notes on doctrinal issues. Often I hear them discussing an author’s intent or a film director's worldview. My daughter and the other young people at Cambridge Study Center are developing life-long learning skills and priorities. Most important, she and her friends have learned to apply the truth of Scripture to all areas of life.

Cambridge Study Center is influencing the lives of young people in our community in a remarkably positive way. In order to continue, though, they need your help. This year my family had some difficulties, but because of gracious people who are dedicated to improving the education of our young people, my daughter received a scholarship allowing her to continue her education at the study center. There are other students wanting the same education who need scholarship assistance. We need people, like yourself, who are willing to help insure that these young people can continue their education at Cambridge Study Center.

Please consider giving to the Cambridge Study Center Foundation. Your tax deductible donation is an investment in the lives of our young people and in the future of the Church.

Sincerely yours,
An Appreciative Parent
