Dear Cambridge Family,

May is almost over and our registration deadline (this Thursday, May 31st) is drawing closer. Please send your registration forms if you have not done so already and are interested in taking classes next fall. Enrollment interest is at an all time high and class space is limited.  We want everyone wanting to take a class to have a place .

We congratulate all our graduating seniors: Jacquelyn Thrush, Dustin Douglass, Jonathan Streets, Katie Mesh and Josiah Armes!  Katie and Josiah were valedictorians of their classes with Florida Parent Educator's Association (Katie) and Families of Faith (Josiah)...both delivered outstanding valedictory speeches! Jacquelyn, Katie and Dustin are on their way to Covenant College in the fall...Jonathan will attend Liberty University and Josiah, who has finished his high school requirements at age 13 will continue to study organ at Stetson University and take classes at Cambridge.  We are so proud of all of these students.

Our spring open houses are complete.  We had wonderful responses and met many new families.  We look forward to getting to know all these folks better as they become involved in Cambridge classes and film nights.

Film nights continue to be well attended. The new Film Night for Adults is meeting on the third Friday of each month at the home of Allen and Harriet Montgomery. On May 18th they viewed Dancer in the Dark followed by a lively discussion... 19 were in attendance. The Woody Allen film Crimes and Misdemeanors is on next month's adult docket for Friday, June 15th at 7:30 p.m.  First and Third Film Nights for students at the Kirby's will feature Jurassic Park on June 1st and Blade Runner on June 15th.

All CSC students and faculty will be going on a field trip on Friday, June 8th to the Dali Museum and the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg. Lunch is scheduled for the Garden Restaurant. Cambridge has chartered a bus for the event. Extra seats may be available if parents or students attending Cambridge next year wish to attend. To check the expenses involved you should go to the Calendar page of the Cambridge website (www.cambridgestudycenter.org) or call us at 646-7669.

Cambridge classes are beginning to draw to a conclusion for this year.  It has been a tremendous year of learning and building relationship among the students, parents and faculty.  Please pray for our current families and our new families as they attempt to discern the Lord's will regarding their educational needs for the coming year.

Faculty news: Eric Fullgraf returned recently from a successful stint on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" He and Britney enjoyed participating on the ABC show that has become a pop culture icon. Dustin Kirby recently spoke at a beach retreat involving the youth from 3 churches. He spoke 4 times on the book of Daniel. Dustin continues to teach the senior high class at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lakeland. Cannon Kirby has finished teaching his photography class at the Polk Museum of Art and will be offering additional classes at the museum this summer. You can call the museum for details.

We ask your continued prayer for a larger facility to house the explosive growth that the study center is experiencing. Please pray for the CSC Foundation Board as they play a vital role in this decision.  We believe that this growth is of the Lord and we look forward to being a part of preparing more young people and adults to engage our culture with the gospel of Christ.

Sincerely,
Jane Kirby
