If you are interested in attending an open
house please make your reservations as soon as possible. Each of the six
Cambridge classes will be presented and faculty members will answer questions
regarding the curricula. The open house dates are April 13 and 28, and May 11.
You can make your reservation by emailing Janie at jkirby@cambridgestudycenter.org
Also please note the following deadlines:
registration (May 31), scholarship applications (May 14) and prepayment
discount deadline (June 30). There also is a possibility, for the
first time, that classes may be limited this year, so register early to insure
a place in classes. This year you may pay by credit card, just visit our
website and go to the registration page. Please be aware that it may be a few
days yet before the deadline dates will be changed on the website.
Cambridge adjunct instructor and advisory board
member David McWilliams will be leaving this summer for Westminster
Theological Seminary in Dallas where he will be professor of Systematic
Theology. Westminster has given permission for David to continue as an
advisory board member and adjunct instructor with Cambridge, so we expect to
have him back from time to time for meetings and short term classes.
David is a close personal friend and I will miss him.
Jacqueline Thrush, Katie
Mesh and I recently attended a play based on the life of Zora Neale
Hurston at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. We had just finished
discussing Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God the previous week so
the play was an interesting way to round out our knowledge of Hurston and her
work. Before attending the play we had a wonderful dinner at the Columbia
Restaurant in Ybor City. Dinner came complete with an authentic Hispanic
atmosphere, a waiter with a wonderful Hispanic accent and flamenco dancers!
Jacqueline,
Bruce & Katie prepare to leave for the Columbia and Zora
Other student news: Dustin Douglass recently
received a soccer scholarship to Covenant College... go Scots! Jonathan
Streets received a soccer scholarship to Liberty University...
go... ?... ! Congratulations to both Jonathan and Dustin.
Dustin and Cara,
Janie and I and board members Steve and Cheryl
Strodtman recently attended the Ligonier Conference in Orlando. The
conference (the topic was Holiness) proved to be a time of physical and
spiritual refreshment for us all! We particularly enjoyed dinner and
fellowship with conference attendees from Cypress Ridge Presbyterian Church
in Winter Haven where Dustin served as Youth Pastor for a number of years.
(Cambridge expects a number of students from Winter Haven this coming year.
Did you know that Cambridge attracts students from as far away as Lake
Wales, Haines City and Plant City?) We also enjoyed some time with attending
Cambridge students Don Rule and Michael Strawbridge.
Thanks to all of you who have been supporting
the study center with prayer and financial help. Please continue praying for
the future of Cambridge!
