Class Descriptions

HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES

Cambridge Preparatory Year: Offering the History of Ideas, Theology and Cultural Apologetics, this two year class is the Cambridge onramp for younger students needing preparation before entering other study center classes. Students may take this class for one or two years.  August through May / at Cambridge only / 3 hrs per week plus directed study.

Thoughts Captive: This core Cambridge class offers Literature and the Arts, Cultural Apologetics, Theology, Philosophy and History in one interdisciplinary worldview curriculum. Students may take this class for one to four years. Year one is prerequisite for all other years. August through May / at Cambridge only / 3 hrs per week plus directed study.

Creative in His Image: A comprehensive study of the fine arts, this class includes Art History, the Visual Arts, the Performing Arts, Philosophy and Theology of Art and participation in the creative process. Students may take this class for one to four years. August through May / at Cambridge only / 3 hrs per week plus directed study.

The Art of Leadership: A two year class teaching important relational and leadership skills of Writing, Public Speaking, Logic, Debate & Etiquette. Students may take this class for one or two years. August through May / at Cambridge only / 3 hrs per week plus directed study.

HIGH SCHOOL SUPPLEMENTARY CLASSES

Thoughts Captive, Supplementary Edition: Cultural Apologetics and Literature and the Arts studied thematically. Scheduled in afternoons and evenings to accommodate schedules of public and private school students. May be taken for one to four years. Year one is prerequisite for all other years. August through May / at Cambridge only / 1.5 hrs per week plus directed study.

Creative in His Image: A study of the fine arts, this class includes Art History, Philosophy and Theology of Art and participation in the creative process. Students may take this class for one to four years. August through May / at Cambridge only / 1.5 hrs per week plus directed study.

ADULT / COLLEGE CLASSES

Thoughts Captive, Adult Edition: Cultural Apologetics and Literature and the Arts studied thematically. Addresses adult issues. Scheduled in evening to accommodate adult schedules. May be taken for one to four years. Year one is prerequisite to all other years. August through May / at Cambridge only / 2 hrs per week plus directed study.
